"Camp at Devil's Gulch Ranch" Fall Fundraiser

Kids & FamilyJoin Devil's Gulch Ranch in celebrating its new non-profit, DG Educational Services, an organization whose mission is to provide agricultural and nature education to children and adults through its year-round programs, workshops and international outreach endeavors.
On November 8, 2008, from 2:00 pm- 10:00 pm, we are hosting our first fundraiser to help DGES get of to a solid start!

The "Most Excellent" Fall Festival at the Point Reyes Surf Shop

Kids & FamilyThe Lagunitas Montessori Program is hosting a "Most Excellent" Fall Festival at the Point Reyes Surf Shop Saturday October 18th from 12 - 5 p.m. Free live music will rock the festival, featuring the band Honeydust and The Tom Huebner and the Real Deal band. This is a family event with lots of crafts, food and a huge raffle with prizes valued over $2,000.00! We are proud to be premiering the first ever West Coast CornHole (Bean Bag Toss) Tournament. So, come on down, grab a burger and Rock On with the "Most Excellent" Fall Festival!

The Hungry Owl Project is thrilled to announce our fourth annual “Evening with Owls” event at the Marin Art & Garden Center in Ross. We’ll have owl stories, short educational talks, a silent auction featuring fine art and photography donated by local artists, the opportunity to purchase gifts for the holidays AND you’ll meet the stars of the show - live owls! We’ll share information and see photos from this year’s activities. Mingle with other owl enthusiasts, nibble, drink wine, have fun - and leave with a sense of wonder. Join us for an after dinner event featuring savory and sweet treats accompanied by excellent local wine and other beverages. All food and drink will be served in and on biodegradable products. This event is a fundraiser to continue our work with schools and the public. Reservations are $75 per person.

General EventsJoin the Hungry Owl Project for an informational presentation by Phil Johnson, Marin Ranger, about the Western Bluebird and other cavity nesters and how you can help in their need for homes. Meet Bluebird Program Coordinator Mari Litsky and hear about our successful implementation of bluebird trails in Marin County Schools. Discover what children and adults can learn about these beneficial birds. Bluebird boxes will be available for purchase. Hors d’oeuvres and wine will be provided.

Rule Britannia! Sunday, October 12

MusicThe Women's Antique Vocal Ensemble (WAVE) presents a concert of English music composed during the reigns of Henry V, Henry VI, Henry VIII, Elizabeth I, James I, and William and Mary. From the Old Hall Manuscript of the late medieval era to the 1694 birthday ode for Queen Mary by Henry Purcell, sacred and secular compositions from 200 years of English musical tradition will be performed.

Guest artists include Katherine Heater, harpsichord; David Morris, viola da gamba; Howard Kadis, lute; and Joyce Johnson-Hamilton, cornetto, recorder, and Baroque trumpet.
